Cruising' into Lockport Car Show 2022
If you live around the Lockport area, one of the best events that they host is the Cruisin’ into Lockport Car Show on Mondays! Every Monday hundreds of people gather in Downtown Lockport to listen to live music, eat local food, shop at the market, and of course, check out all of the classic cars. The event runs yearly from early June until the end of September.
The main event, of course, is the car show from 4pm to 8pm. Tons of cars lineup along State Street and 10th Street for attendees to look at. Every week has a theme such as ‘Ford’, ‘80s’, or ‘Trucks’. They also hold a contest to name the winner of the best car every week. Not only will you find classic cars, but you’ll also find plenty of newer sports or muscle cars, and even the Mystery Machine. The owners of the cars line up along the sidewalk, so if you have any questions about the cars, you can ask.
Through the end of August there is also weekly live music. Music starts at 6pm and goes until 8pm at the gazebo in Central Square on 9th Street. Bring your lawn chairs or sit at one of the picnic tables spread across the lawn in front of the gazebo. There are 2 more weeks of music left for the year. On 8/22 you can see The Wayouts who play classic rock. On 8/29 you can check out Rosie and the Rivets who play retro rock and roll.
Are you hungry? Check out the market at Central Square! There are multiple food vendors to choose from. You can try Villa Nova which is a local pizza place for pizza by the slice or beef sandwiches. There is also a food truck with fair favorites like funnel cakes, deep fried Oreos, and hotdogs. Aside from food, there is also a few vendors for shopping. There is a farmer’s stand with fresh produce, a jewelry stand, and Tiny Flowers Farm who has the most beautiful flower arrangements for sale each week for $10-15. The market also ends at the end of August when the live music ends and runs from 4pm to 8pm.
If that isn’t enough for you, check out all of the local businesses located in Downtown Lockport. Located along State Street you’ll find The Studio for wine, Embers Tap House and Nik and Ivy for beer, Beanie’s for candy, The Cupcakery for cupcakes, and so much more! Most of these businesses set up on the sidewalk and offer food and drinks for sale for you to continue to walk around with. If you need to take a break from the heat, step inside and have a bite to eat or a drink in the AC. If you remember The Shack, the bbq place that was located on State Street that had the best food, they set up every week on the corner of State and 9th right outside of The Studio! Just look for the orange canopy. You can’t miss it!
The Cruisin’ into Lockport car show is such a good time! You have to check it out before the end of the season. Also, don’t forget to come say hi to me! I set up a table outside of Realtopia Real Estate at 936 S. State Street and am usually out from 4pm to 8pm. I always have free cold water and other goodies to give out. See you there!
